Changing the advocate representing the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences has sent some disturbing signals to student and parent community who were happy with the A.P. High Court directive on Tuesday in the case filed by Pranavanath Goud and three others.
The government replaced D. Nagarjuna Babu appointing A. Prabhakar Rao as the new advocate and issued a G.O. to this effect.
Parents are sore that no notification was issued and meritorious students were ignored by the private colleges as they had already filled all the seats. The High Court’s directive has upset some private colleges as it would limit income from filling the Category C seats.
A hearing on the Public Interest Litigation in the case will however, begin soon with the university already filing its affidavit in the case.
The High Court on Wednesday constituted a bench to hear the petitions in these cases for faster disposal of the matter as admission process had to be completed in the first week of August.
Admission process
The university officials have made all arrangements to begin the admission process from July 20 for the Convener Quota in A and B categories.
The counselling for reserved categories will also end by July 27 or 28.
The university was preparing to send notices to all private medical colleges as per the court orders and their affidavit in the High Court on July 31 when the case comes up for hearing.
